Missionary (mis·sion·ary): a person undertaking a mission and especially a religious mission

I think missionaries are idolized at times.  Maybe not idolized exactly, but definately looked up to, well respected, praised.  Missionary life is actually alot like regular life.  Living in Jamaica, we try to focus on the needs of our neighbors and the people around us, but we still have to wash dishes, fold laundry, and pay speeding tickets.  (Ahem.)
Maybe the Jamaican people's physical needs are greater than those in some parts of the world, but people all across America (and the globe) don't know Jesus, don't have hope for their futures.
I think the difference between being a "missionary" and a Christian at home, is that a "missionary" has certain, specific obligations to fulfill, and a defined job to do in the country where he lives.  Which makes it easier to reach out to the people around him.
What if, Christians in America could find where God is at work, and let Him define a specific mission for them?
Maybe it's a kids clubs, helping out neighbors, working at McDonald's.  I believe now is the time to become passionate and bold about saving the lost.  Before it's too late.

"God isn't looking for people of great faith, but for individuals ready to follow Him."    -- Hudson Taylor

"It is possible for the most obscure person in a church, with a heart right toward God, to exercise as much power for the evangelization of the world, as it is for those who stand in the most prominent positions."   -- John R. Mott

I don’t know why God has called me to be in Lancaster, but I know that God has interwoven our lives for a reason.
Me at Mcdonalds. You in Jamaica. Together with God.
Abigail. I love you, and your passion.
